Heart Like A Grave By: Corinna Fugate

Heart Like A Grave
By: Corinna Fugate

You make me want to swing from a rope
You've killed my hope and my faith in humanity
Was butchered the moment you betrayed me
Keep your poetry, your dazzling red rose
I bleed such crimson at the cost of your prose

Your heart is like a grave
Cold and dead in every way
Like a vulture you circled, my heart was your prey
Your heart is like a grave and you are dead to me in every way

You're the one, like a siren from the sea
You lured me close to the waters' edge
You looked me in the eye then tried to drown me
Your love is a mirage
You are hollow inside
Your heart is a shadow that disappears in the light

Your heart is like a grave
Cold and dead in every way
Like a vulture you circled, my heart was your prey
Your heart is like a grave and you are dead to me in every way

You play the victim so well
But dear it's just one of your games
Your cruelty I have tasted
If drama was vodka you'd be so wasted

Your heart is like a grave
Cold and dead in every way
Like a vulture you circled, my heart was your prey
Your heart is like a grave and you are dead to me in every way

A Constant Changing World

A Constant Changing World

Years tick by like hands on a clock.
Things began to change over the
years as life itself starts to evolve.

Winter to Spring
Summer to Fall

Endless seasons that witness the
changes of man. As more and more
forests start to disappear and animals
start to loses their homes.

A change that did not benefit Mother
Earth. Earthquake shatter the ground
beneath mankind's feet. Cracking earth
devouring the homes above. Leaving
many people in despair.

Cold to Hot

Dormant volcanes come alive after
years of rest. Endless lava flows
through the villages below, eatting
up whatever it touches.

Surprising tsunamis arise and tearing
placing from beneath the feet of many
people. Leaving behind devastation and
destruction.

Wet to Dry

Floods running wild in the streets where
rivers once flowed. Wild storms hit land as
forest began to catch fire. Tornado rip
throught forests as everything is sucked
up into a vortex.

Where houses once stood, now lay nothing
more than empty plains. Nothing remains
after the devastation hits, but where there
is death it seems that some sort of life follows.

Too Soon

Too Soon

Death has taken with him two souls that will
be mourned and sorely missed. May you find
peace and happiness where ever you are.

We will never see your face or hear your voice.
We will never see your little one grow and
become a woman.

We wll never hear your voice or listen to your
laughter. A gloomy atmosphere has fallen over
the family upon hearing your sudden departure from
this world.

We hope that where you are now; to know
that we will hold you in our hearts forever.

For a mother who made plans, and never be able to
achieve them, and to a daughter who will never know
how it feels to live a complete life.

To two fallen angels may you find peace in death,
that you could not find in life!

Rest in Peace

Author notesDedicated to my cousin and her baby whose lives were abruptly cut short.

The Facade Is Over

The Facade Is Over

You played the victim game very well.
You had me going for a short time, believing
your words to be sincere. I believed in your
words, only for you to contradict yourself.

You disrespect my ways and my beliefs. I
once trusted you to respect them, but you did
not. You wanted something more than just
friendship, but I never had such feelings.

I never said we could be anything more than
just friends. Friends do not lie to each other.
You played me like a puppet on a string, but
now I know your game.

I thank you for this lesson much learned. You
were no more the shining knight than you were
a gentleman. I thank the stars that I caught the
signs in time.

Your controlling, domineering, and possessive
ways aren't for the ones who are wild as the wind
and fierce as a storm.
